Empty Space on Twenty-Fourteen Template?
-
Hi,
I recently switched my theme over to twenty-fourteen and like the way it looks, save one problem. Does anyone know why there is a massive white space on the right side of the page? I’m viewing the page from a standard laptop with standard resolution so it’s not as though I’m using anything with strange settings. The space is fine if I can center the actual page, but eliminating it would be best.
I’m not sure if the problem is something that can be fixed through actual coding, if it’s just my computer, or if there is some setting I don’t know about. If anyone has any tips that would help I would REALLY appreciate it. Take a look at the site and let me know what you think. Also, if it does require coding, feel free to post the actual code since that isn’t one of my strengths.
Thanks everyone! The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Bonn,
The space you’re seeing on the right side is a design choice made by the team behind the theme.
It is possible to override the design choice with some custom CSS, which requires WordPress.com Premium or Business. If you do decide to upgrade, then the following CSS will centre the content of the theme for you:
.site { margin: auto; }Alternatively, you may wish to browse our repository for other magazine-style themes that better suit your needs. You can filter based on different criteria at the top here:

My first thought is that Rowling may be a good fit for you but, as theme choice is very much down to personal preference, I encourage you to have a browse about.
Let me know if that helps out. We’re right here if extra questions come up.

Hi!
Thanks for the help with that. I’m going to take a look at the theme you suggested. I’m also considering upgrading anyway, so it might be easier just to throw the code in later if I don’t find anything I need. I’m going to spend some time looking over others just to be sure before I spend the money, but it will be worth it in the long run if not. Thanks again and I will let you know if there are any other issues! -
