The same thing just happened to me today. I checked the site and the home page gives the same message – https://mindoveranxiety.blog/ I have tried to find a way to restore it. No luck so far.

I clicked by chance on your link and I saw you were able to fix it. Do you have a solution?

I just started building my site and used the Nook template. But after trying to add a Social Icon, I got this “Empty template: Index” message. Then I added a block. The “Empty template: Index” went away and now I just have a blank page. When I activate a different template, the site shows up. But when I activate the Nook template again, the site disappears. Does anyone know how to fix?

I found this post after having the same problem as everyone above. I was using the Nook template and was doing some changes and the homepage completely disappeared with exception to the “Empty template: Index” message.
What ended up being my issue is that the template for the front page got deleted. To fix, I did this:
- Clicked on the WordPress Logo (“Manage Your Sites”).
- Clicked on Appearance -> Editor
- Clicked on Templates
- The “Index” Template was blank for some reason. I clicked on the three dots to the right of “Index” and clicked “Reset.”
After that, everything seems back to order. Phew.
