Empty Template: Page

After successfully creating my homepage and blog posts, I am trying to create a basic page but getting “Empty template: Page
The steps I use: Pages>Add New Page>Choose a template or create a blank page. After creating some basic content, I save and publish and get this error “Empty template: Page”.

Hello there,
It sounds like you would need to add some template elements to the page in order to see the content.
This would be added via Appearance > Site editor.
Are you able to offer insights of what you’re looking to build? Perhaps I can offer insights on how best to build that.

Since I wasn’t able to create the pages I ended up creating the content as blog posts. But this is also causing a problem as I don’t want those posts to show in my blog feeds…
This is what I want the pages to look like:

Hi there,
You definitely shouldn’t have to create posts in order to publish your pages.
It seems you somehow made some customization to your Page template which I believe is causing the issue.
1. Go to My Sites → Appearance → Editor
2. From the top of the page click on the arrow button that stays right beside the word “Page”. Then select Browse all templates .
3. From this page, you will need to click the three dots on the right and choose the Clear Customization button for whatever the page is giving you the error. That should resolve the issue.
