Emptying spam? Photos disappearing?

    I have been trying to empty my spam comments for quite a while but I get your error message that something has gone wrong and it doesn’t clear. Also I used URLs from the media file to place photos in emails sent through Constant Contact. Those photos have disappeared and Constant Contact says it is because you no longer support them. Is that true?

    Hi Carolyn,

    Well I can certainly see how not being able to delete that spam queue would be annoying! With your permission, I’ll try and delete it myself, but I wanted to make sure it’s OK with you.

    In regards to Constant Contact, we have always had a policy that the hosting which we provide is specifically for images which are hosted here with us. Using those images elsewhere isn’t what our services are designed for. If you would like to host images for use on an email campaign, I would recommend a service which is designed for such things, such as a regular hosting account, an account with an image hosting company (such as flickr, imgur, or smugmug), or even hosting the images with a service such as dropbox.

    Thanks for your reply. Please feel free to clear the spam. This problem has been happening on a regular basis but not all the time. sometimes it actually clears.

    OK, your spam has all been sorted! I’ve discovered that even if it can’t crunch all of the spam in super-huge queues like yours, it will still delete several hundred at a time. So all you have to do is keep at it, and go in and tell it to try again. Since you had a couple of thousand spam messages it took a few minutes, but not long. Maybe 5 or 10 minutes.

    Should be good to go now!
