Enable comments on all posts.

  I have enabled comments on all posts by ticking: “Allow people to post comments on new articles” in Discussion settings, though my four latest posts have comments off. No, I have not disabled Allow comments in the Discussion module in each of these individual posts.

  I also tried to to disable comments and enable again. I also tried to change themes with no luck. I also tried to do Bulk Actions on the four latest posts.

  Anyone with a clue on this topic?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  @nowherenorth, it might take a little time for the WordPress.com database to shake out the old setting, so make sure you’re blog has the correct settings to allow comments and publish new posts. I know this from my own experience on one of my photography blogs that I reactivated after a long hiatus.

  @gtmoving-if you have a real answer to contribute, please do, but spamming the forum is the quickest way to earn a one-way ticket out of here.

  You probably need to go to Settings>Discussion and uncheck the option “Automatically close comments on articles older than [n] days”.

  @panaghiotisadam Ahh, that’s the clue. I forgot I ticked: “Automatically close comments on articles older than x days” in June when I did awake my blog. Will maybe expand the 30 days limit I have now.

  @justjennifer Thanks for your help also. I will bear in mind that WordPress.com database can be shaky. That’s a pro of having your own installation: you have the power of the database.

  Hello everyone

  I’m working on a blog hosted on your own server, which is integrated with Active Directory in my company (with the “Active directory integration” plugin), and despite having unmarked options:

  An administrator must approve the comment
  Comment author must have a previously approved comment

  All comments left in the innings, yes or yes, require approval for publication. I have reviewed the forums and can not find how to automatically publish.

  Not is whether there may be some item level permissions of folders and/or files of configuration which escape to my knowledge.
