enable search feature in theme
-
On Nov. 12 2014 Mr. Duvall asked “Could you clarify where the search feature was on your site? Was it part of your theme on an individual site or was it a search feature overall on WordPress.com?”
I’m trying to figure out how to enable the former, how to get the search feature to appear on the homepage and every page of the theme. It appears to be present on the preview version, but now that I’m populating queenardesia.wordpress.com, I don’t see it in the menu.

Every WordPress theme has optional Search Widgets. You may use multiple search widgets in any available widget area. You presently have a search widget at the top of your sidebar. Some themes have an optional search box in the header area. Sketch does not.

Which menu?

Looks like you added a search widget to the sidebar in Sketch: https://queenardesia.wordpress.com/
Your widgets, including the search box, will only appear on pages and posts with a sidebar. For example, the widgets won’t appear on the Jewelry page, because you’ve opted to apply the Portfolio Page template, which doesn’t have a sidebar. If you choose the Default template for that page instead, the sidebar – with the search widget – will be displayed.
