enable sending referrers??? tried everything!
-
I keep getting: “sorry, you have to enable sendinge referrers”… But I did! I just signed on, so it never worked before, but a tried Opera as well as Firefox, both browsers are set as described in the WP help page. I am aware of no firewall and no virus program, so I am really clueless. Any ideas?

Borree – are you sure there’s no firewall?
I had this problem all the time when I had Norton personal firewall running.
I went over to McAfee and have not had the problem since.
Changing the settings never made a difference. The only thing I had to do when I had Norton running was stop the firewall, close Firefox and then re-open and re-load the page I was trying to edit. Perhaps you could give that a go.

I do not have Norton.
My issue is that my site edits work fine for some time, then BAM – enable referrers
I end up constantly removing my cookies, some of which I like to keep.
This is an annoying problem

Don’t use the Opera browser. Someone the other day I think was having problems with Opera. I could never use my Blogger blog on Opera. Things were missing.

‘enable referrers’ is not a browser related issue, but rather a lame backend design which relays on ‘referrers’ send by a client.
hopefully, it’s gonna finally be improved due 2.0.3 core release. (see http://markjaquith.wordpress.com/2006/06/02/wordpress-203-nonces/)
gmknowles, gotta make an exlusion for wordpress.com in your personal firewall, so it would allow to send referrers to this host. (see a manual or use a support service for ‘how to’)
