Enable Switch to clasical editor on new accounts
-
https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/#frequently-asked-questions 7th FAQ mentions the ability to enable the ‘Switch to classical editor’ but the ‘contact us’ link provided to enable this feature on new accounts is broken, anyone knows how to enable this option?

Hey Supernova, wow thanks!
so just to clarify, my account already has the option enabled.
I am teaching a 12 year old how to use WordPress and look at simple HTML/CSS and therefore need his account to have the switch.

Hi,
we would need the owner of that account to reach to us to be able to make the change for them.
In any case, I just wanted to let you know that we would eventually stop supporting the Classic Editor so, since you are teaching someone, it may be best to use the new Block Editor right from the start.
You can also use HTML with it too:https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/custom-html-block/
As for CSS, I imagine that you are talking about some simple inline CSS that you would use directly in the editor? Otherwise, note that CSS is only availabe on plans Premium and above.

If the user is under the age of 13 in the US or 16 in the EU, they will need a parental consent to use the WordPress.com service.
staff-mckluskey – it was my understanding from Staff replies in much earlier forum threads that support for inline CSS was discontinued. Thanks for clarifying.

justjennifer – We can’t provide extensive CSS as the continued support requires too much upkeep. But basic things, like colors are no problem.

Hi @lizkarkowski – thanks for the clarification and sorry for the late reply. My cup runneth over at the moment. :)

the classic editor is loaded using a URL attribute flag, so we managed to activate it thanks.

sadly, even
<style>blocks are stripped by the wp_kses filters, which I think is a shame given the potential for teaching kids.@justfennifer

inline CSS works, but
<style>blocks are stripped which sucks really, as it hardly makes a difference in the editor, but is so much easier to visualise .
