Enabling Comment Likes?
-
I went to Sharing –> Sharing Buttons, but I don’t have a setting available to turn on comment likes; either under Options or elsewhere on this screen. How can I get my comment likes to be turned on?

Hi there,
You will want to click on My Sites>Settings>Discussion.
These support documents will help you enable comments.

Thank you!
I have done these things already, and I am receiving comments on my blog. However, there is still no “Like” button for my comments. I don’t even see the setting to turn it on.
I’d add screenshots, but I can’t figure out how to add them here…

I’m sorry, I read your question wrong.
I am seeing the like button on your posts. I went to several to see if I could see it.
Try this and see if it comes up for you:
https://wordpress.com/sharing/buttons/deathbytsundoku.comIf you’re on your blog page, rather than hovering over My Sites and choosing Settings, click on My Sites and choose from there.

Yup, I can see likes for my posts. But I don’t have a like button for my comments. So, when other people comment on my blog I can’t like their comments, and they can’t like my replies. I assumed this wasn’t possible, until I read this article:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/comment-likes/Now I’m just confused.

Gotcha. I just messed with my settings following the link:
If it doesn’t open to that exact spot like it should, just scroll until you see this part:
How to Enable Comment Likes
By default, all new WordPress.com blogs display the Comment Like option (and the gallery of Gravatars for bragging rights) under each comment.
To disable Comment Likes, head to the Sharing Buttons page. Uncheck the “On for all posts” box below to the Comment Likes setting:
In the link above and where I specified, click where it says Sharing Buttons Page. When that window opens, scroll down until you see options. Look for where it says Comment Likes – On for all posts. Is that box checked or unchecked?

The box doesn’t even appear. I don’t even have a setting appearing for Comment Links.
Do you know how to add a screenshot? I wish I could show you that it’s literally missing.

@themagicrobot- I didn’t even realize. Hahaha. Thanks so much for stepping in. :) Wee little oversight there.
-
I appreciate the thought– I should have mentioned that earlier! I tried changing my theme to Twenty Sixteen earlier, and I still can’t find the setting anywhere. It’s really strange.
-
If we’re still talking about a WordPress.org install, the chances are that “comment likes” aren’t supported on the build version of WordPress you are using. Here at WordPress.com it is a one-tick to enable.
-
I must have done something wrong with my install then. :( Well, I’ll keep hunting in my own setup. Thanks @themagicrobot! That helps.

I don’t think you’ve done anything wrong apart from reading WordPress.com instructions which aren’t always identical to WordPress.org.
If you can’t see that option in your dashboard then it looks like it’s not available to you. You really need their forums to find out if there’s more accurate help there:- -
