Enabling comments displays extra code when viewing with iphone
-
Hi there,
I’ve recently turned comments on for my blog and when viewing on an iphone, this string of code is added at the bottom of each page/post (that has comments enabled):
You may use these HTML tags and attributes: <abbr title=””> <acronym title=””> <b>
<cite>
<del datetime=""> <i><q cite=""> <strike> It's not displayed when I view on my ipad or ASUS laptop (using Internet Explorer). Can you please help me figure out how to remove this text? Or at least change the font colour to white so it's not visible? The site is crunchcompass.com, and one example of where this is displayed is http://crunchcompass.com/27Aug2013/ Thanks very much! Charise Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I don’t understand why you want to disable the ability of your readers to enter some HTML code into their comments.

Do note that you can quickly and easily change themes to another one found here http://wordpress.com/themes/ and no data will be lost or negatively affected by the change. The only time you may have to do some work is if your are changing to a dramatically different theme and have to resize images.
Provided you are logged in as Admin under the same username account that registered the blog go to Dashboard > Appearance > Themes and browse themes until you find one you like and click “activate” or type in the name of the theme you want to use and
click the “activate” link when it appears.After you change your theme all you need to do is go here Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets > Inactive Widgets and re-install them where you want them to appear. The widget contents and settings will be the same as they were prior to changing themes.

Thanks for your fast reply! I didn’t realize it’s actually to inform the readers of the html ability, and I’m not sure my readers would want to. It seems to look more like an error to me, even though I now see that it’s not, especially because it only appears with the iphone display. I don’t want to change my theme, although thanks for suggesting. I do have the css upgrade, but am a bit of a novice. Is it possible to change that font to white (so it’s not visible) without changing any of the other font? Thanks again.

I don’t help with CSS editing so what I’ll do is tag this thread for moving to the CSS Forum. Those who do help with CSS editing will answer your question there.

@crunchcompass, try the following CSS and make sure that “Include this CSS in mobile theme” is selected in the CSS editor flyout at Appearance > Custom Design > CSS tab.
.mobile-theme .form-allowed-tags { display: none; } -
Thank you – I eagerly tried, but unfortunately this didn’t work. I don’t actually have the mobile theme enabled (I like the non-mobile appearance better even on a phone). If you have any other tips, I’m all ears! Thanks again.
