Enabling comments on pages by DEFAULT

  Is there any way to enable comments by default on pages so I don’t have to click on ‘enable comments’ all the time? I heard it used to be a toggleable feature a few years ago, is there any way to reenable that behaviour without plugins? (Free user, so my options are limited.) If not, does WordPress have any plans to revert this change anytime soon?

  Hi,

  What might work is a feature in the Admin Dashboard under the Discussion Settings. You can access the Admin Dashboard by adding /wp-admin to your blog url.

  In your Admin Dashboard go to Settings, then Discussion. Enable the “Allow people to post comments on new articles” option and save your changes. New blog posts should have comments automatically enabled, older posts won’t be affected.
