Encrypted search terms
-
90% of my search terms are encrypted. I understand the reasons for this, but it makes it difficult for us to know what our readers are looking for. Assuming 90% of that 90% is from Google, is there anything I can do to see these terms?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No. Have you read this section? http://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/#search-engine-terms
-
Sure, and the key part is:
“We recognize this means a loss of stats information for you and we will look for other ways to show you how users arrived at your site”
So, does anyone know of any “other ways”?

Who is “we”? Do you mean “no, I don’t”? If so, thanks, but does anyone else know?
Would Google Webmaster tools help, for instance?
-
Ok, so I answered my own question. Do this…
Go to Google Webmaster Tools and sign up/in
On the main page, go to “Search Appearance” on the left-side menu
Under that menu, select “Data Highlighter”
Paste in the URL of a typical post from your site
Follow instructions
Get information. Lots and lots and lots of information. -
BTW I should add that WP seems to do little to help itself in Google terms.
It would be trivially easy for them to add a little bit of markup that would greatly improve the structured data stuff, so let’s hope they do that.
It is also, apparently, possible to get a feed of those search terms in unencrypted form if the user (you) provides login details for their Google account (no password required).
