End similar website from deceaced choire member (no prove of ownership available!!)
-
One of our choire participants started (appearently six years ago) on a new site. At the moment we are revising our site (www.midges.nl), we were going to use wordpress when we stumbeld uppon this site. As you can understand we cannot have two sites, so we like to get this one out of the air but this person has deceased recently. I think his name was Marcel, but I’m not sure. I never met him, he passed away a week after I joined the choire. How can we do this? I do not have a prove of ownership. Kind regards, Marike Klomp

Hi there,
We’ll be able to transfer ownership of the WordPress.com account to you if you could please mail us the following:
* A copy of the deceased user’s death certificate.
* A power of attorney or legal document stating your authority to act on behalf of the deceased, or a signed, notarized statement including:
– Your first and last name
– Your current contact information
– Your email address
– Your relationship to the deceased user
– The action you’re requesting (e.g., “Please transfer ownership of the account.”)Our mailing address is:
Automattic Inc.
60 29th Street #343
San Francisco, CA 94110You’ll need to contact the family and figure out who has the power of attorney. Hopefully, they are willing to work with you in retrieving access to the site.
I hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
Thanks,
