Engineering Happiness

  I am a retired engineer but my activities have never been on this topic. Whilst I do favor the idea, I would like to know a lot more about how I may take the raw material of this topic and shape them to more general and public needs. I seek to make as many people happy as I possibly can.

  As a retired engineer I choose to greatly favor WordPress efforts to make our lives happier. Yet I myself am not a happy person and I have worries and responsibilities which involve others, some of whom are driving me crazy.

  If this condition allows me to do some good as a volunteer to WordPress, I will gladly participate and an author of a book about the better understanding our social system, there presumably is much that is possible if and when we strike the same chord.

  I am particularly interested in a socially just sharing of opportunities, many of which are monopolized by uncaring speculators, who are not even aware of what harm they are causing. Without these unpleasant results there would be much more chance for many poor people to live better lives and presumably to be a lot happier than what currently prevails. So for me happiness engineering extends practically into the creation of a better social system. Write to me for more details, if you are sincere.

  Oh, I think we are talking about two different things.

  The WordPress.com staff that offer support to our users are called Happiness Engineers. What @deancroyal linked to above is the description of the job.

  If you’d like to help to volunteer here, on the WordPress.com forums, you are very welcome to do that, however, folks here need help with their WordPress.com sites. For other topics with which you may be more familiar with, I’d suggest finding other forums to contribute to :)
