Enlarging an Image
-
How do you add the little magnifying glass to an image which enlarges it, and then changes to a minus sign in the magnifying glass to revert to origianl size.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
The function which you’re talking about is actually something which your browser does automatically when you have pulled up an image which is larger than your browser window can display. When you embed images you can select how they will be linked, you just need to select that you want your image to link to the file, so when visitors click on your image they will be taken directly to your original image. Assuming your image is big enough they will have the option to zoom in if they’d like.
You can read more about working with images and how to insert them into posts right here:

Let me know if you need some additional help!

Sorry Ash – can’t seem to make it happen. When I click on my pciture in the post about ‘Forks”, it enlarges the pciture but there is no back button to take you back to the post. I saw the little magnifying glass I referred to in the new Delft Big Band – Gridiculous Pro site. When I put the cursor over the main image, it brings up the magnifier, and enlarges the picture, and then changes it to a magnifier with a minus sign in it, to reduce the picture again. Many thanks, Joyce

Hi Joyce,
Could you send over a link to the site which you’d like to emulate so that I can point you in the right direction? Hopefully they’ll be on WordPress.com so that I can point you directly to what you’ll need to do!

Hi Ash, Have just had another look. It is a wordpress site, but when you go into one site (ie The Delft Big Band) it doesn’t respond the same, but if I click on the link to
https://en-blog.files.wordpress.com/2014/06/thebigband.jpg
the effect that I want happens on the main header image. Many thanks Joyce -
Hiya Joyce,
I just went and found the site that I think you’re talking about:
I went to their gallery page (http://delftbigband.co.za/gallery/) and it looks like all of their galleries are pretty typical galleries set up in there to showcase the images. Is this what you were looking for? If so, I can tell you the step by step process for how to get that in place.
Let me know!

Hi Ash, No it wasn’t in their galleries, but what you said led me to thinking, and I have now made the effect that I wanted work by creating a gallery with just one picture in it. Magic !! Many thanks for your help
