Enlarging content area
-
Hi again, I love the spun theme but I’m having trouble making the content area larger- I have changed it in my settings to 1024px but it hasn’t made it any larger. I’ve also tried my own (frankly dodgy) code to try and remedy it
.content-area #page {
width: 1024px;
}
but it hasn’t worked. Can anybody help me? As ever- much appreciated.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Are you talking about site wide, or just on the single post pages with the tiled galleries? For single post pages, such as “the grill 2013” you can widen the overall width of the content with the following code. The images will widen to about 860px with this change. The tiled gallery at the top will not increase in width, but the static image below the gallery will increase to the full width.
.single .content-area { width: 100%; } .single .hentry { width: 100%; }The tiled gallery image sizes are set by the theme and the WordPress software so they fit together nicely and are very challenging to change so that they flow correctly at all browser window/device screen width. If you grab your browser window and narrow it down and watch what happens as it gets narrower, you will see what I mean.
With the above change, post pages with single images, such as “Anise Gallery Charity Auction– Deceber 14” will display single images at about 860px in width.
