Enqueue Javascript
-
I currently have a free account and am using a free theme. This, for now, is just an investigation so that I can get comfortable that I can do what I need to do with my site on WordPress.com – with the goal of upgrading to a business account once I understand the limitations.
I would like to use the Google maps API to create a map on one of my pages. I understand that I need to edit the functions.php file for my theme to enqueuer JavaScript. It appears that I cannot currently do this – there’s no edit option in wp-admin/appearance.
Can I do this if I upgrade?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Rob

Hi there, do you still need help with this issue? Upgrading your account will not give you access to restricted code, such as javascript. You can read more about that here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/code/
Currently the only map embeds we can use here on WordPressdotcom sites are Google Maps following this guide https://en.support.wordpress.com/google-maps/ or Carto embeds https://en.support.wordpress.com/carto-embeds/
You can find all the support documentation for WordPressdotcom at https://en.support.wordpress.com/ and suggestions for finding self-help solutions at https://dailypost.wordpress.com/2016/01/14/help-with-wordpress-com/
