Enquiry prior to decision of premium package purchase.

    Dear WP,
    Prior to purchasing the Premium package, I would like to confirm the following:

    1. Upon purchasing a domain name for myself, my website will appear as “www.mydomainname.com.sg”, instead of “http://bioreson8.wordpress.com”, am i right?

    2. I will be able to use any theme(s) which I purchased out of wordpress site too?
    because I am unable to find a suitable theme for my website from your site.

    3. Will I be able to get support from WordPress on how to do up my website, when needed?
    Because I noted for “Business Premium”, it stated “Live Support” but not in the “Premium” pack.

    4. Will I be able to get my domain name through WordPress, or must I get it done from external sites?

    Please advice further.

    Correct

    No – third party themes are not allowed – you can only choose from the themes you find in your Dashboard >> appearance >>themes

    4. Will I be able to get my domain name through WordPress, or must I get it done from external sites?

    You will need to register your domain name not at WordPress.COM they cannot register “name.com.sg” domains

    If the upgrade does not list “live support” (however I resent the implied part here that I am a dead zombie :) ) then it is not included

    Note however – the support forum here is pretty good and if there are questions that the unpaid not dead zombies can’t answer then you are referred to the staff for additional help – so no matter what type of blog you have here you always have access to the staff

    On the 3rd party themes, I heard from a friend that as long as I upgrade my account into Premium account, I can upload whatever themes I might have / created.

    Can anybody in WordPress confirm this before I pay to upgrade?

    This is the most important reason why I want to upgrade.

    That is 100% wrong – you can only use the themes built into WordPress.COM – there are however over 200 themes to choose from

    Also, your blog will never have www in the URL. That’s extremely outdated and WP.com blogs do not use it.

    Hmm.. actually I’ve browsed through all the themes in WordPress.com & I am not comfortable with any of them, as I need something with a more medical feel.

    I saw 1 theme which is the outlook & feel of what I want it to look at “templatemonster” & it says it’s for use on WordPress and another interested theme on “mojo-themes”

    What then does “wordpress themes” mean in those template websites’ cases?

    So confused now…
