Enter new lines in custom footer text
-
I have added a custom footer to my blog using this code:
`
.site-info:before {
color: ;
content:
“© 2014, Understanding IC. All Rights Reserved. Disclaimer: The information on this site is not a substitute for advice from a medical professional. Always consult your doctor before making any changes to your diet, lifestyle or medication.”;
}`I would like to start a new line from the word DISCLAIMER but can’t work out how. If I add <p> </p> it just shows up in the text instead of adding a paragraph. If I add the code twice then I only get the second line, I guess it overwrites the first.
Any ideas?

Hi Sarah! You can use the escaped character “a” in your content and preserve the white-space:
.site-info:before { content: "Disclaimer:a The..."; white-space: pre -

Hmm, it works when I’m in customiser but then when I save and go on the site normally I can see “Disclaimer: /a The” and the code isn’t working :(

Hi there, It seems that you need to use
000a
instead of
A
for the escape sequence. I’ve added that to your custom CSS content declaration right after “Disclaimer:” and checked it in Safari, Firefox and Chrome and everything seems good. I was not able to check in Internet Explorer as my Virtual Box is upset with me. :) -

Oops! Looks like this forum text box is escaping the backslash here. Let’s try again: backslash + 00000a

@abreujamil, the forumz at our slashes! I’ve fixed them by putting the escape codes between backticks. :)
