Entering Comments Within HTML under Text Tab on Pages

  Are we able within wordpress.com to comment out code or make comments within the HTML code under the Text tab on a page (webpage)? I’m used to using <!– comment text –> outside of wordpress.com when I’m working on websites. Is it allowed here?
