Entering Server Credentials

I am a newbie. I am just starting to build a website. My hosting provider is Bluehost. The Jetpack plugin was advertised in my WordPress plugins area, and I thought it is a good idea. I purchased the a Jetpack plan. Now I am being notified that I need to enter my server credentials to finish configuring Jetpack backups and scan. I have my all my server credentials from Bluehost. When I attempt to enter the server credentials at WordPress.com it says ‘You don’t have any WordPress sites yet.’ When I attempt to add my already owned domain for a WordPress.com site, then I am offered to purchase a plan. I am stuck in a loop. I already paid for my domain and hosting with Bluehost, and I have already paid for an annual Jetpack plan. I want to keep my hosting at Bluehost, and I want to use my paid Jetpack plan. Will you please be so kind to assist me with successfully setting up my Jetpack plan to use with my Bluehost hosted website? By having Jetpack am I unnecessarily doubling up on my website services, which are already offered by Bluehost? Should I cancel Jetpack and just go with what I already have for services? Please be so kind to advise me as to what is best for a new website. Thank you and have a Wonderful Day!

    Hi there:

It sounds like you’re not logged into the correct WordPress.com user account tied to your Jetpack plan.

Jetpack provides backup and security services to compliment what Bluehost already provides, so it’s worthwhile getting Jetpack set up and working for your site.

Could you contact Jetpack Support via this contact form and mention this thread? They should be able to help you sort out your credentials issue. Please provide them the URL of your site where you’re having trouble.

    Thanks!
