Entire WordPress site disappeared & reset to default

Hosting my own WordPress site. Brand new to this, and it’s proven to be quite a challenge for me.
My site wasn’t too comprehensive – just two pages. But it took quite a while to get the paid theme figured out. And now both pages are gone.
When I visited http://www.mydomain.com tonight, the default theme was there instead.
After I logged into my back end, my two pages are gone. I got a prompt telling me, “We have to update WordPress for you.” I clicked okay. Nothing was updated – except everything I did was gone – and the paid theme is no longer there, too.
Oh, and I was already updated to WP 3.0.1 before this, so I don’t know what they were updating.
Can anyone chime in on what might have happened?
