EPP Authorization / Transfer Question
-
I had registered my domain with WordPress, but have since decided to switch to BlueHost. However, through lots of misdirection and panic, I deleted the site from WordPress before transferring it (shoutout to human error). Since then, I’ve been able to regain access to it via BlueHost and was able to get a Happiness Engineer to change the namservers for me.
However, thinking about the future…on BlueHost it says that my domain is good until 2019, just not with them. When it eventually expires, will I be able to transfer it to BlueHost? Even though I don’t have access to it anymore? Is there a way for someone on the WP side to initiate the transfer for me? Or at least unlock the domain and give me the EPP code? If I have to start over with a new domain I will, but it would be easier and better for my brand to not have to.

Hi there,
I can confirm that the domain transfer has already begun. The transfer process will take about a week, but the exact time varies depending on the receiving registrar (Bluehost).
If you have any other questions, just let me know and I’ll be happy to help.
