EPP Code
-
I was on the phone with wildwestdomains last night – I thought they would be able to give me my EPP code. They advised me to email “support@wordpress.com” and request it, but I haven’t gotten anything back. Does anyone know what I should do next?
Thanks much!

Thanks timetheif – that first link was very helpful.
I wasn’t intending to appear impatient – just wanted to make sure I was doing all I could on my end. -

Hi there,
I can see that the original ticket which you requested assistance on has been responded to. Please note that when you follow the directions noted by timethief, it’s important that you remove Private Registration first otherwise the email with the authorization code will go to the wrong address.
Let me know if you run in to any difficulties!

Hi amightywp!
Thanks for reaching out!
I thought I had done everything right a few days ago…but when I put in the old URL to see if it resolves to “therainydaybaker.com” things aren’t looking good. (This is the url I’m using to see if it works: http://74.220.219.133/~theraio5/)The second problem I’m seeing is on my admin page where it lists my sites; what is supposed to be my new rainydaybaker page has a an error message on it about jetpacks.
I’m in over my head. Any advice?

Hiya,
First lets get your domain name taken care of. I can remove the Domain Privacy for you and get the authorization (EPP) code sent out to the address which was on file when you first registered the domain. Would you like me to do that?
In the mean time, I can also change the nameservers for your domain so that the domain points to your new hosting. In order to do that however, I’ll need to know the nameservers that your hosting provider gave you. If you could provide those to me I can take care of it for you as well.

Thanks so much!
I thought I had removed the domain privacy and gotten the EPP code – but if it appears on your end that I haven’t done that yet, then YES, please do!The nameservers that my hosting provider gave me are:
ns1.bluehost.com 74.220.195.31
ns2.bluehost.com 69.89.16.4Thanks again.

Well to verify, this is for the domain “therainydaybaker.com”, yes? I don’t want to make these changes for the wrong domain name!

I just had our system send out an email to the address which is on file for your domain. It is an ICANN verification email which will serve to verify your identity and it’s required that you click on the link in that email before pretty much any of these steps are completed (which is what has been holding this whole process up, I’m sure).
Could you please check your email for that message and act on it?

Excellent! That appears to have been the final step. And it does actually look like you had removed the privacy correctly, it just hadn’t disappeared off of my control panel correctly (sorry about that confusion!).
I took the liberty of still pointing your nameservers over to bluehost, so assuming everything is set up correctly for your domain, it should show up correctly over there here any moment (literally, it usually just takes a few minutes for .coms). Additionally, I pushed through the transfer so that should be happening in the next few minutes to next few hours (it depends on the queue).
So in short, we’re sorry to see you go, but you should be well on your way! Let me know if there’s anything else I can do for you.

Wow. Thank you so much!
At the risk of sounding really stupid I have one more question to ask:Now that everything is pointing over to bluehost, does this mean that I should not be using this URL to manage my content –http://74.220.219.133/~theraio5/wp-admin — this is the admin url they sent me after they transferred my site over.
Just trying to get the lay of the land – I’m still pretty unclear on where I’m managing things from. (If this is a question I should be asking them, feel free to say so)
thanks again.

It looks like they set the entire thing up (or was that you?) so that once the domain was properly pointed you could log in at the correct URL:
http://therainydaybaker.com/wp-login.php
You shouldn’t have any troubles logging in there from the looks of it (since I cannot log in, I couldn’t tell you for sure, but the very fact that this page loads is a good sign!).

I really can’t thank you enough. Feel like I should send you a fruit basket or something. You were a HUGE help in getting this all figured out and everything seems to be working properly again.
THANK YOU!!!

Not at all! You did most of it. I just came along behind and confirmed that you were on the right path at each step.
So well done! I wish you the best of luck going forward. :)
