EPP Code

  • A screen shot would be great. You can upload it to your site’s media library and I’ll be able to see it:

I’m logging off now so won’t see immediately if you reply again, but I’ll check in on this thread again a bit later :)

    Ok screenshot is uploaded. Thanks.

  • Thanks for the screen shot. And you say you only received that one email? Did it go to the Gmail or the Hotmail address. Did you receive nothing at the other address?

I’ve deleted the screen shot from your media library again to make sure it doesn’t get indexed by search engines as it contains your email addresses.

It went to the gmail address and it was just that one subject was: Alert: We need your approval.. I had been receiving emails from WordPress on my hotmail before I switch and after whenever I requested the EPP code because I haven’t accepted the change to accept the terms and service. Thanks.

  • I haven’t accepted the change to accept the terms and service

Are you saying you didn’t confirm the change via that page in the screen shot? I still see the Hotmail address in your domain contact details, meaning it didn’t change to the Gmail one. Is the Hotmail one the one that you want to use?

When you change the email address, you’re supposed to receive an email at the current email address (hotmail in this case) containing a confirmation button and an opt-out option for the transfer lock AND you’re supposed to receive an email at the new address (gmail in this case) with just a confirmation button. The screen shot you provided matches what you should receive at the second email.

The email change isn’t complete until you confirm via BOTH emails, at which point you should receive another email to confirm that the change has taken place.

So do I understand correctly that you received only the email at the new address? If so, it points to a problem at the registrar, as they’re responsible for sending out those emails. If that’s the case, the best option is to wait for a reply to your email to the secureserver address for now.

You should hear back from them within 48 hours, normally, but the holidays might have an impact on their response times, as with most services at this time of the year.

Ok sounds good, I never received a email at the hotmail address for a confirmation so I can wait for them to reply. Thanks!

    Hello,

It’s been quite some time and I still haven’t heard back from the secureserver email. Is there any other solution to resolve this? Shouldn’t the EPP code and privacy unlock be enough for a transfer? Thanks.

  • I had a look at your domain in our account at our registrar, and it is now showing as unlocked there. I’ve resent the transfer code from there – it was sent to your hotmail address. Can you please try starting a transfer again using that code?

If it again fails, let me know because then there might be something else going on.

Ok thanks the transfer in pending. I’ll have to wait 7 days to see what happens, thanks.

  • Okay, it looks like we’ve received the transfer request from your new registrar and things are in motion. Please let me know if you run into any further trouble with this (and also if it’s successful :) )

Thanks a lot! The Transfer was a success!

  • Excellent, and thank goodness. Sorry that this was such a convoluted process, but that’s unfortunately what happens if the policies are set by people who don’t work with these things every day :)

Good luck with your Bluehost site!
