  How do I get rid of the wording:
  ‘Type/to choose a block’?

  You can’t as this is part of the Block Editor.

  If you’re referring to the text “Type to choose a block” when you’re editing a page with other blocks on it, you can remove it by clicking on it, then backspacing. However, if it is the only block on the page, you can’t remove it (it’s there to encourage you to add blocks/show you where content can be added).
