Erased domain name not available

    I had an old blog on tranganhvu.wordpress.com and wanted to change the site name to pinkstruggle.wordpress.com. I somehow created 2 sites and managed to change the old site name from tranganhvu.wordpress.com to a new name pinkstruggle.wordpress.com which had all the old content and named the new site tranganhvu.wordpress.com with no content. Wanted to keep the content but not visible to anyone else but me so I thought that I swoop the names of the sites. Thus I deleted the empty new site which got the old name tranganhvu.wordpress.com to then change the pinkstruggle.wordpress.com back into the old name tranganhvu.wordpress.com but it is listed as taken! Can anyone help me? I want that name back and make it invisible or inactive and open a new empty site with the name!pinkstruggle.wordpress.com

    Hi there. I’m afraid that site is gone. When you clicked the Delete Site option it would have given you the opportunity to empty the site instead. You should have picked that option, as deleting the site deletes both the content AND the address. Additionally, that permanently removes the address from WordPress.com and no one, including the original owner, can ever use it again.

    Ok I understand. It was stupid of me to erase it. I should have just swooped the contents between the 2 sites first. However, the old content is still there but I guess I’ll have to upload it to another site and make it private first before I can start the new one. Thanks for your quick reply!

    If you want that content on a different site, you can change the address and register the new address that way. This will automatically empty the current address. Just make sure you don’t delete the current address, but choose to keep it when prompted.
