Erasing wordpress from browsing experience
-
My topic keeps on getting deleted, I’m really sorry for re-posting but let me try one last time. I think it might be getting deleted because I’m posting links to my (non-objectionable) externally hosted site, so let me try writing a question without using that domain.
I own an external domain, and am trying to get that address to show the content on my wordpress site. So far it’s pretty successful, but there are just a few kinks that make my business look unprofessional.
1. The web address bar shows the same address, statically, throughout the visit to my site. This is regardless of what portion of the site you are currently on. (It never shows, for example, blahblahblah/home or blahblahblah/aboutus.)
2. When you hover over links on the site, the bar at the bottom of the web browser indicates that they lead to the wordpress site. If you copy the link and paste it into the address bar of the browser, it brings you to the wordpress.com site, not anything on my domain. If you *click* on the link, you are brought to the correct content but the address bar just shows my domain name (as mentioned above).I mapped the domain by initiating a redirect through my web hosting service, which is 1and1. I imagine that some work needs to be done on the wordpress end as well in order to make everything fully cohesive, but I don’t know how to do it.
Sorry to be needy, but oh my goodness do I need an idiot’s explanation. I’m not generally a dumb person, but when it comes to web stuff I can’t even tie my shoes.
Thanks!
-Steve

Ok, that worked. Again, I’m sorry for posting the same topic three times. If I could delete the others I would; the actual written question got deleted but the thread topic still survived and I can’t do anything about that.
