Erm…options keeps giving me a 404, exceedingly annoying, please help!
-
So my friend invited me to contribute with him on his WordPress blog. I wanted to play around with the options…but the Options button keeps giving me a 404 message! Whats up?
-
Well I don’t know where its hosted, I didn’t make the blog, my friend did and invited me to co-run it with him.
Whats the difference between wordpress.com and wordpress.org? I wasn’t even aware of a .org…
-
Bah…can someone ask on the wp.org forums for me? I don’t have the time atm to make a new account.
But to make sure, even if you DIDN’T make the blog, you should be able to access the Options page yes?
-
K, I tried wordpress.org…and they directed me back…here…
Ok, THIS is the page that appears whenever I click Options on wordpress.com…
gizzedinc.wordpress.com/wp-admin/mu-plugins/delete-blog.php
Any ideas on whats causing this?
-
Ugh, tried everything, restard, different computers, and it doesn’t work on either Firefox or IE. Any ideas at all? What should I do…I can’t change the template or anything…. :(

In case anyone was wondering, I DID manage to resolve this issue. The reason I kept getting a 404 on the Options page was because I was an author, not an admin. Once my friendset me as admin, Options worked, and all the other buttons appeared.
My suggestions,in order to prevent any future confusion, is to make the button Option invisible to authors who are not admins, just like presentation and all the rest.

Actually it should have been visable in the first place to you since you were just an author.
I wonder how old a version of WP your friend is using because I know that doesn’t happen in my offsite 2.0.3 sites.

He’s not using the downloadable wp.org program, he’s using the onsite wp.com service.
But I dunno, I no longer have any problems, and I must say WordPress is by far the most sophisticated blogging system I’ve seen to date, very nice. :)
