Erratic behavior while creating text widget using html!! Please help.
-
I’ve been experiencing erratic behavior while creating and editing text widgets and I am at my wits end. It’s been all too time consuming. I want my links to open up in new tabs. I was successful once. But then with the others I had trouble with them working. This one will not open up at all when I add target=”_blank”. When I removed it, now it will open up and works fine:
With other text widgets, part of the code would disappear or the link wouldn’t open, or the link wouldn’t open in another tab. But I finally was able to get those to work through tedious repetition!
Now, for my last widget, it’s just right. But the problem is now that the width will not change when I even blow it up to a large number. Here’s the code:
I’ve also tried width=”210″ height=”175″ and that doesn’t work either.
Is there something going on with WordPress? Or is it possible that a virus, somehow, somewhere is involved? I have a mac so it isn’t me! Please advise. Thanks!

After just posting that, a closing > didn’t show up after the href! And target=”_blank” didn’t show up in either of them! What is going on? I got it to work finally with most of them except for this first one. For the second one it worked but I can’t change the width. ARGH!!!
Okay maybe I was supposed to add the ‘. I will try that.

I forgot to mention that I with this last one, I ended up using the image widget since nothing at all was working. Sorry for all the responses. Thanks for your patience… (blush)
