Erroneous Invalid Email Address when Attempting to "Follow"

  I am trying to ‘follow’ a friend’s WordPress blog (bookechoes.com), but it is being rejected with the message that my email address is invalid ((email visible only to moderators and staff)). My email address is fine, but for some reason the code behind the ‘follow’ is coded incorrectly. Can this be fixed? Thanks.

  Hi, I just checked the follow widget on the blog you linked to above. When I used a period in the middle of my address it worked properly. Also, with Gmail addresses the period doesn’t have to be there. For you gcmillerghs82 would go to the same location.

  Do you still see the error? If so, which specific blog are you trying it on?

  I actually worked around the issue by going to the wordpress site and clicking on something (I forget what) that let me manage the blogs to which I’m subscribed. I entered the blog URL and it took. I have idea why having the period in the email address would cause a problem. For free sites I did not have the issue, only for the one paid site that I tried.
