    Error 310 (net::ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS) for htt//www.lamadridmorena.com, What can I do???

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi there,

Your domain, lamadridmorena.com, doesn’t yet have its nameservers pointed at WordPress.com. If you could just log in to your account that you have with your domain registrar and update the nameservers to:

    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM

    NS2.WORDPRESS.COM

    NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

And give it between 1 and 48 hours for propagation to occur, your issue should be resolved!

As says my domain registar I can’t change the name of servers but I can change the A record putting the wordpress IP (I did with 72.233.2.58 IP) or a CNAME record putting the fqdn (I couldn’t try this because I haven’t this wordpress’ value).
Maybe I have to edit these?? :MX 10 m-13b.th.seeweb.it.

    MX 20 smtp-avas-th.seeweb.it.
I suppose this because they are the dns registers on my wordpress’ desktop…. I’m not informatic and I’m really confused…. thanks a lot for your help/solution…

    Hi there,

The way way our system is set up, the only way in which you can point your domain name towards our servers is through nameservers. If your registrar cannot or will not change your nameservers then you will not be able to use your domain with WordPress.com.

If you’d like, you can use a subdomain of your domain, such as blog.lamadridmorena.com and use a CNAME (this does not work for the base lamadridmorena.com). If you’d like to go this route, let me know and I can set things up on this end.

The CNAME value you would need to point blog.lamadridmorena.com towards would be your site’s name, so lamadridmorena.wordpress.com

I would create http://www.lamadridmorena.com for a better web position. Can I achieve this also with blog.lamadridmorena.com??

Maybe I had to change domain and then point the new domain to wordpress.com. What do you think?

    Thanks a lot

That’s fine if you would prefer to just use your main domain name to point towards your WordPress.com site, however in order for it to work correctly, you would need to use nameservers.

If you are considering a new domain, you may want to use a different registrar who will allow you to change your nameservers whenever you like. Here is an article which provides reviews of the top five domain registrars, each of which will allow you the functionality which you need:

Thanks a lot, I bought the domain subscription with wordpress.com. I suppose that I don’t have to change this subsciption, is it??
I hope I can do anything without too much problems. Maybe, wordpress.com that has to inform which registar is able to do the mapping, before to charge the subscription…. It Is a suggestion to avoid
discomforts. Thanks a lot and have a nice day!!!

    Hi there,

Are you no longer planning to keep your domain mapping? If not, I would be more than happy to remove it for you and provide you a refund, even though it is just a bit outside of the refund period.

And I apologize that this has been complicated. Most registrars are able to point domains in the way required, so this is usually not such an issue! :(

    Hi amightywp,

I solved anything with namecheap. I bought domain with wordpress on 4th April and It starts to work on 14th May, so I lost only a month… If you can give me this mounth as a present, It would be a very important detail for me… If not, it’s ok…

My mail works without problem, but It points to my old server: MX 10 m-13b.th.seeweb.it.
    MX 20 smtp-avas-th.seeweb.it.

Is it right? What’s happen if I let my old registar? What have I do create a new mail account?

Sorry for all these questions and for my english :-))

Thanks and have a nice day,

    Morena

    Hi there,

I’ve gone ahead and refunded you $7, which is a bit more than half of your domain mapping! I hope that that works for you.

As for your email, as long as you are happy with your email services with your old company, you can keep it pointing there. If you’re not, or if you don’t want to keep paying them, then you will need to get email with someone else. I believe that namecheap provides email services, so you might want to look into something with them!
