error 403 (Domain mapping issue)

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello,

    I just ‘UN-mapped” my domain

    http://www.quietramblings.com

    from my wp.cpm blog
    http://www.quietramblingsdotcom.wordpress.com

I want to use my self-hosted site again. I checked the whois.com
    http://www.whois.com/whois/quietramblings.com

it says that my site is back with Hostgator. I spoke with hostgator they say it is propagating properly. However, I am getting this error message and want to make sure everything is fine.

When I cancelled the domain mapping from wp.com I didn’t get an email to confirm cancellation (not sure if i was supposed to rcv one or not)

Long story short. Is the domain mapping cancelled and why does this message keep appearing when I goto my quietramblings.com

Warning! Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found. Please log in and go to the Domains Upgrades page of your blog to use this domain.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hey there!

I can confirm that the mapping of quietramblings.com no longer points to WordPress.com.

You may need to clear your browser’s cache, and then take another look:
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache

When I go to your domain, I can see your self-hosted site.

I hope this helps! If you have any other concerns, drop me a note. Thanks much!

It still has that message. I cleared my cache and did all steps on the link you left me. Thank you for that by the way. ;)

I had someone check for me from another location and she can see the wp template. But for me I still get that domain mapping message. I’m so confuzzled

    Hi there,

I’ve had problems like this before. Sometimes my browser or ISP (it’s sometimes hard to tell for sure which) is just stubborn and doesn’t pull the correct information.

We’re sure that your domain is pointed towards your new site, but I’d love to get it so you can see it yourself. Could you try opening an incognito window of chrome and seeing if that works to load the correct page? Incognito windows will load pages without cookies or cache so it can frequently be like a clean slate. If it still doesn’t load, it may be that your ISP is caching old information.

    Let me know what happens!
