Error 499 – Am I The Only One?

Add topic to favorites
I’ve been getting Error 499 when trying to post to my blog or add links to my blogroll this afternoon. Is this a site-wide thing or is it just my account? I sent mail to support@wordpress.com about it – hopefully it’s just a small issue that will be resolved soon.

Error: Dagnabit! There’s been an error. Please contact support@wordpress.com with your blog address, and report this completely incomprehensible phrase: “error number 499” (which means something to somebody, promise!)

That’s the error message I get.

For some reason today most of my posts on the Front Page only and sidebars have changed the font and have become ridiculously ugly. I tried deleting the last 2-3 posts and they post fine. The strange thing is that Fire fox is displaying fine but IE is the problem.

I tried changing the theme but it does not fix the problem . I am a Cutline user but I have switched to Contempt.

IE6 and IE7 are problematic. But exactly what does posting your problem have to do with the subject matter here in kevinjeffreysmith’s thread?

Look down the forum. Find the “mauve” shaded area and the title Forums. Click on “support” and scroll to the bottom. There you will find a box wherein you can place your post. :) Here’s a shortcut https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum.php?id=2&page

Only staff can deal with that. Do what the original poster did and email staff.

I read about a clone worpress from wordprexy and I don´t know if this is related

The wordprexy site is a mirror site (not affiliated with wordpress) to get by the blog blocks in Turkey and would not have any effect on your blog here.

Send in the email with the information requested and staff will get to it although it may be tomorrow morning before they do (they open at 9am PDT).
