  How do I fix an error 500 sign on my wordpress site.

  Hi, the site you’ve linked doesn’t appear to have much content posted recently. To confirm, is that the site you are referring to? If not, what is the URL of your website?

  Bare in mind that if your websites uses the self-hosted version of WordPress rather than WordPress.com, you should post in the self-hosted forums or alternatively contact your hosting prover. Note the difference here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

  Let us know this information and we’ll try and move forward. :)

  Hi, Thank you for responding.

  I was updating the template and the ‘error 500’ showed up.
  I have tried using Filezilla but for some reason, that is failing connect to a server. Now I don’t know what to do.

  It appears that your website uses the self-hosted version of WordPress rather than WordPress.com, which is what this forum is designed to help with. Note the difference here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

  You may be able to find help here: https://wordpress.org/support/ or alternatively contact your hosting provider.

  ahh ok. Sorry this might sound silly but who is my hosting provider? I am just working to update the website, so I am unsure who that is.

  Hi, not to worry, but unfortunately that’s probably something only you’ll know for certain. But your name servers are this:

  Name Servers:
  ns1.greenwebhost.net
  ns2.greenwebhost.net

  So it’s a reasonable assumption to make that your hosting provider is https://greenwebhost.net. Does that sound familiar?

  Unfortunately no…. I will ask my manager who the hosting provider is. To clarify are you suggesting greenwebhost.net is my hosting provider?

  Unfortunately, that’s something only the website owner will know for certain. But yes, it’s fairly likely it is.
