Error 500 and account doesn’t exist
-
When I visit my site it shows error 500, when I login to WordPress it says the login details so not exist, these are the same details I’ve been using for 6-7 years already.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi @ilzaleminnie,
A 500 error usually means something has gone wrong on the server side. Since your site is at leminnieattorneys.co.za, it looks like a self-hosted WordPress site (not hosted on WordPress.com). That would also explain why your login isn’t working here WordPress.com accounts are separate from the account you use on your own hosting.
Guide: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/
Here’s what you can try:
Log into your hosting provider’s control panel (cPanel, Plesk, etc.) and check Error Logs for details.
Disable plugins or themes by renaming their folders via File Manager or FTP sometimes a bad update causes the 500 error.
If you can’t access wp-admin, try renaming the /plugins folder to something like /plugins_old to force all plugins off.
If none of that works, reach out to your hosting company’s support team they can check the server error that’s preventing the site from loading.

thanks I’ve tried everything on Cpanel, any idea why WordPress is saying that I do not have an account when I’ve always used the same login details?

Short Response:
Hi @ilzaleminnie,
WordPress.com and your self-hosted site (leminnieattorneys.co.za) are completely separate. You may have never created a WordPress.com account that’s normal!
For your Error 500 issue, please contact your hosting provider’s support team directly. They can check the server logs and fix the problem since your site isn’t hosted on WordPress.com.
