Error 500 on my WordPress site

I have put an AdSense code (inadvertently) on the custom-header.php which doesn’t recognize the ‘<‘ sign, I guess. But when I tried re-saving it again, the Error 500 persists. What shall I do to remove the code on the live site? I really cannot access my account right now. :(
