Error: Active domain connection for this domain not found

I have had my website blomfelt.dk hosted at wordpress.com untill today. Around 9 months ago, we moved nameservers from wordpress.com to another provider. We meant to move the website also, but just didn’t get to it yet.

Today i can see that the website blomfelt.dk gives an error. I belive that we may have stopped the subscription, but im unable to verify anything about the website. I’m not even sure if the website were connected to this account or another.

How do i gain access to the site again? Is it possible to recreate the site and start webhosting subscription again?

  • Hi,

Since blomfelt.dk is registered with another registrar and you’ve canceled all of your WordPress.com upgrades, we’re kind of out of the loop on what could be causing this.

To me, it looks like your nameservers haven’t changed properly at your domain registrar. So my first step if this were my site would be to contact their support team and ask them to check what is going on with that.

Let us know if anything is unclear or you have any further questions.

    Hi,

The name server change is not the issue.

We havn’t changed the a-record. I only assume that the wordpress.com subscription has been canceled by someone i my organisation by mistake, before the webserver was actually moved fully.

How do i gain access the the “old” site at wordpress.com again? I will ofc. renew the subscription.

  • To clarify, the domain you mentioned used to point to the site blomfelt.wordpress.com – it can still be accessed under this free domain. I don’t see any custom content on the site, so I’m not sure this is actually the one you were looking for?

If it is, and if you wish to subscribe to the Business plan again, you’ll need to log in to the account that owns the site. If you don’t remember the credentials, you can use the form from this page:

    https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/.

The website has been working and has had content for 1year+

The a-record for blomfelt.dk has pointed to the same wordpress.com ip address for more than a year. Nothing is changed.

Very recently it stopped working, withnin the last few 2-4 days.

I’m just trying to recover the site, or the content of the site.

IT looks like my account doesn’t have access to the site. If i access blomfelt.wordpress.com i get the following message:

    —-
User blomfeltadm Cannot Access the Dashboard Requested

You are logged in as “blomfeltadm” and do not have the necessary privileges to access the dashboard for “Site Title”. If you are not “blomfeltadm”, please log out, and log back in with your username. If you are “blomfeltadm” and you need access, please ask an administrator of the site to invite you.
    —-

The owner if blomfelt.dk doent know any other account, which should have access.

I will see if we cant find enough information to use the “Account Recovery Form”.

Are you able to see if any sites were deleted frm my account recently?

I’ve now found emails that proves that blomfelt.dk were in fact created on this account, on may 17th 2021.

The site must have been shut down / deleted very recently.
I need to restore the site to this account again. How do i do that?

  • Hello there,

The a-record for blomfelt.dk has pointed to the same wordpress.com ip address for more than a year. Nothing is changed.

What is the IP address referenced here?

Are you able to see if any sites were deleted frm my account recently?

I can’t see that any sites were delete from the account.

I’ve now found emails that proves that blomfelt.dk were in fact created on this account, on may 17th 2021.

It looks like this is a standard email sent from a self-hosted installation when it’s created. This would not have come from WordPress.com.

Hopefully the answer to the IP address above will point us in the right direction.

    Hello Adam,

The A-Record for blomfelt.dk has been set point to 192.0.78.187 as mentioned for over a year.

    Hope it helps.

  • Hello there,

    Many thanks for that information.

It looks like the domain used is pointing to the site blomfelt.wordpress.com – it can still be accessed under this free domain.

I can’t see this site connected to this account.

Do you have access to the account that does? If yes, but can not access this, you would need to follow these steps to recover access to that: https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/#account-recovery-form

    Hi Adam,

    We have submitted the form.
I just have some other questions, would it possible to force a password reset for that account since then we should be able se see switch mail adresse it should have been create on if its a blomfelt.dk mail. Or prof that we own the domain by creating DNS records to speed up the accout recovery?

We wouldn’t be able to action that request without proof of ownership.

I’m glad to see you’ve submitted the form and hopefully as a result, all ships can steer in the right direction.
