Error: deleted_client when I try to authenticate with Google account

    I set up a blog for my mother, then let her take it over so I haven’t been in to check on it for a long time. Adding/editing the site is fine, but I’ve been trying to access site statistics. When I choose “JetPack/Site Stats” or “Insights”, I get a message that I need to configure Google Analytics settings. That brings me to a button “Authenticate with your Google account” which leads to “Authentication” where I choose Next. I am shown a window that says “Enter Google Code”, “Click to get Google Code”, “Paste Google Code” and a Next button. Choosing “Get Google Code”, I get a window with:

    401. That’s an error.

    Error: deleted_client

    The OAuth client was deleted.
    Request Details

    redirect_uri=urn:ietf:wg:oauth:2.0:oob

    scope=https://www.googleapis.com/auth/analytics.readonly https://www.googleapis.com/auth/analytics
    access_type=offline
    approval_prompt=auto

    That’s all we know.

    I’m afraid I’m stuck. I found a discussion of this problem at https://github.com/EddyVerbruggen/cordova-plugin-googleplus/issues/290 but I don’t know enough to try the suggested fixes.

    Any help is appreciated.

  • Hi there,

    Are you speaking of http://www.ihavetoomuchstuff.com/blog?

    I can access stats for that site without any problems.

    But also, there’s no connection at all between Jetpack stats and Google Analytics. Jetpack doesn’t have any Google Analytics integration built in, and that message you’re seeing is most likely coming from the Google Analytics for WordPress plugin you have installed.

    Please contact support for that plugin directly for help setting up Google Analytics on that site.

    For help with Jetpack-related issues on that site you can reach Jetpack support at https://jetpack.com/contact-support/?rel=support or https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpack/

    Thank you for your help, but I was referring to http://www.syzygytraining.com/franksavage

    I thought that Google analytics and Jetpack worked together. I worked on Jetpack for a while and now it all works!!

    Thank you very much!
