Error: "Email is in use", when trying to change email under personal setting
-
I can’t change my personal email adress to another person. I created the site for someone else. I used the “invite” function to add the person to the site as admin. But the user never verifed and I deleted the pending invitation. I expected this to “free” the email. I now want to change the email adress under personal settings to this new user – but I get the errror message “the email adress is in use”. But I deleted the invite and the email is not in use anywhere else. How do I change the email to the new user instead of my email?

You have two separate email address settings at WordPress.com.
Blog notifications for the admin (like comment moderation, Likes, new subscriptions, etc) are sent to the email address at Settings -> General in the Dashboard.
Personal notifications (like comments on your post, subscription emails, and upgrade renewals) are sent to the email address at Users -> Personal Settings in the Dashboard.
Try changing it at http://wordpress.com/#!/settings/ first.
If that doesn’t work, try Users -> Personal Settings in your blog’s Dashboard.
