    Hello sir/madam,

I need help. Our website is down as well as the behind the scenes access.
I needed to create a new wordpress account as I cannot even login, and my email doesnt seem to work anymore.

I have 2 theories for this.

    1. Recent activity shows that there was quite a bit of logins (800 failed attempts)
    2. The Server domains are deleted by the host possibly.

I think its the latter, as we switched email, and the old email is registered to the site, I have tried many times to change it to the new email, but I need ‘Confirmation’ by some other account which I never got.

This old email also gets many spam emails as I get them automatically sent to my new email.

Below is what was sent in the email.

This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or that contact with the database server at localhost could not be established. This could mean your host’s database server is down.

Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
Are you sure you have typed the correct hostname?
Are you sure the database server is running?

    WP.com: Unknown
    Jetpack: Unknown
    Correct account: Unknown

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there, @carlosiacu!

    Thanks for reaching out.

The site you are having this issue with, financiallysorted.com.au, is not hosted here with us at WordPress.com. Instead, this site is a self-hosted WordPress site (WordPress.org). This is different than WordPress.com. WordPress.com is a managed host for WordPress sites.

We can only offer support for sites hosted here with us at WordPress.com.

Saying this, the following guide should help you resolve this issue:

    https://wordpress.org/documentation/article/common-wordpress-errors/#error-establishing-database-connection

In short, the issue is likely that your wp-config.php file has the incorrect credentials but there may also be an issue with your web host. You can contact your host to confirm that.

Should you need more help with your self-hosted WordPress site, you will want to contact your host.
