error importing media from self hosted

  Hi, I’m trying to import my posts and media files to wordpress.com from self hosted, but images has do not imported. What i did wrong? Thanks!

  The images are “attachments” Did you say “yes” to including “attachments” when you imported?

  Hi there,

  I see a blog at http://ccprlor.wordpress.com/ as well as a second one that was deleted. Both have images. Were you able to resolve this issue, or are you still having trouble? Were some images imported but not others? Or are you having difficulty with a different blog?

  I’ve deleted the first blog. On http://ccprlor.wordpress.com/, second import was partially successful. I can’t migrate the images from some posts.

  Hi Cristian,

  Thanks for the sample post. Are you having any issues with images other than those in galleries, like that post? If so, please post a link to a post.

  Also, are you using any plugins to generate galleries, or are you using the WordPress built-in gallery feature?

  Yes, i have the same issue with a lot of posts (all with galleries). I use the wordpress built-in galleries.

  Hi again,

  Do you have any other content on your blog right now other than your imported content? If not, I’d like to empty the blog and have you try creating a new export file and re-importing it. If that replicates the issue I can see what we might be able to do on our end.

  Also, can you tell me which version of WordPress you are running on your self-hosted blog?

  Hi there,

  I’ve queued up a request to empty your blog. I’ll post here again when I have confirmation that the job is complete so you can try your import again. In the meantime, you might try doing another export of your self-hosted blog, and make sure you export all content.

  Okay, the blog at http://ccprlor.wordpress.com has been emptied. Please try your import again, and hang on to the XML file in case it doesn’t work and we need to go to plan B.

  Let me know when it’s done, and how it goes.
