Error in country based phone number filter? That phone number does not appear to
-
When I try to switch on Two-Factor Authentication in WordPress.com and insert my phone number, I get message
‘That phone number does not appear to be valid’. My full number is +372 xxxxxxx (+372 +7 digits). I tried to fill in phone number fields several times without any spaces or dashes:Country: Estonia (+372)
Number: xxxxxxxNumber is legit Estonian mobile phone number (service provider EMT) already 20 years and works flawlessly with other two-factor authentication services.
Maybe there is some configuration error in the filter for Estonian mobile numbers?

Hi there,
When you select the country, it automatically retrieves the country code, in your case +372, then you don’t need to repeat this code anymore. You only need to fill your phone number directly. -
Thank you Carladoria for your answer but it did not help.
Maybe I did not explain clearly in my first post: I did chose correct country code from drop-down list and filled in only phone number part in another field. It is expected user behavior. My problem is that even if I fill everything correctly I do get message “That phone number does not appear to be valid”. I even tried insert incorrect formats for testing but the result remain the same. -
Hi @andreseesik, thanks for getting in touch. I’m not sure what would cause this, but I’ve reported the issue, and will let you know when we have more information. Cheers!
