Error inserting image into post, buttons not working

I have been trying off and on the last few days to insert an image from my media library into a post, but can’t get it to work. Sometimes the button to insert media won’t even work. I have had to click the cursor around to different points in the article text to get it to enable. Even then, it’s sporadic. If I do get to where I can insert the photo, once I tell it to insert, it loads a blank page and will not take me back to editing my post. It’s not saving the draft, so I keep ending up back at square 1 with no image in my draft. Any ideas? I’m using Firefox 7.1 on a OSX Snow Leopard iMac.

Thanks, but I tried all of the above and still have the same issue. I have tried the most current version of Safari, but it did the same thing.

How are you connecting to the internet and to WordPress.com? The way you connect to the internet (mobile, satellite, DSL, dial-up) and to your blog, and how many proxy server jumps etc. it takes to connect can cause problems. There maybe be problems with your ISP and/or with the proxy servers.
Are you using http:// or https:// see http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/
Do you have another browser you can try?

Good thought. I do use a Verizon mobile hotspot via a Palm Pre Plus to connect since that’s our only hi-speed internet option where I live.
Strange that this is the only issue I’m having with WordPress though. Everything else seems to function normally. I am using http:// when I work on the blog admin.
I will see about trying Chrome.

Just installed the most recent version of Chrome and got the exact same issue verbatim. I am also using a different Mac…this one with Lion installed. This is wierd. I’ve never had issues with WordPress not functioning for me with almost a year of experience with it.

Thanks. I do have Java enabled and Flash is up to date. I checked all plugins too to make sure something wasn’t haywire there.

A month later, and I’m still having problems. For some reason, the issue with posting the image resolved, but now I’m having similar issues with buttons not working. This time I tried to edit an existing post. I wanted to turn off “sticky” for a post, but nothing happened when I clicked “edit.” This also happened with clicking the “edit” for date and timestamp. This seems to be getting worse rather than better. I am still using the most current versions of Chrome and FF.
