error link in account renewal
-
In september we received an email from wordpress stating there was an erroneous link in the renewal email sent to us
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
the subject of the wordpress email message was: We made a mistake. Please let us make it up to you.
message:
“We recently discovered a broken link in our emails that may have impacted you. While you may have been sent to an incorrect page that didn’t allow you to renew your current subscription, rest assured we have fixed the problem moving forward”As a result we believe an unrelated account was associated with us: theshanis.com
the only account we are managing is shanibit.com
In addition, we had problems logging in to shanibit.com as it redirected us to the unrelated account (theshanis.com)
Possibly charges were made as well to this unrelated account.
How can we verify theshanis.com is no longer associated with us and that no charges for domain renewal or other were applied to us relating to that account?
As said, the only account we need to be associated with is shanibit.com
thank you

Hi there,
At what email address did you receive this email, on what date exactly did you receive it, and what was the FROM address on the email?
The domain, theshanis.com, does not appear to exist, and has never been registered with, hosted on, or connected to any username account on WordPress.com, so I find it very unlikely that we would have sent you any communication regarding that particular domain, nor that we would be redirecting you to that domain for any reason.
You are posting here as the WordPress.com username,
shipsatsea. This account does not own any paid upgrades, including domains, with us, and has never been charged for any upgrade on WordPress.com. We don’t even have a credit card on file for you which we could have charged. You have several free WordPress.com sites in your account that you own. However, you are not the owner of shanibit.com. You are an admin on that site but that site and all its associated upgrades belong to someone else. The owner of shanibit.com has likewise not been charged for any upgrade except those purchased by their account, and which they can view at https://wordpress.com/me/purchases/billing/

Subject: We made a mistake. Please let us make it up to youWas it not sent by wordpress.com?
What was the mistake ?Yes indeed I am an admin on shanibit, not the recepient of the email message. Shanibit owner asked to look at this issue since they could not login to shanibit, their credentials logged them into theshanis. I have tried myself and was logged into theshanis, which had no content but did indeed exist. It took some digging but we finally made it into shanibit after the theshanis issue popped.
The email message in question contained a link to a time limited discount :
“Please let us make it up to you! Simply use the code SORRY10 for a 10% discount when you renew shanibit.com today. This discount expires at midnight on September 9, 2019.”Can you pleaee help us find out what was all this about?
Send your messages to the owner of shanibit directly if account management delegation is the issue
Thank you

We cannot help you as the representative of another user.
If the site owner is being logged into the
theshanisusername account (which is something completely different from the theshanis.com domain you mentioned in your original post), it’s because they’re entering login credentials for that account. But there is no connection whatsoever between thetheshanisusername account and any other username account on WordPress.com.If the site owner is unable to access their correct account, they must follow our account recovery process at https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/ so we can help them regain access. We cannot help with this in the public support forums via a request that’s being sent through a third party.

“Please let us make it up to you! Simply use the code SORRY10 for a 10% discount when you renew shanibit.com today.
