Error Loading Posts – iPad mini

    Recently found that I cannot load notification posts from The Daily Post on my iPad. I tap the Notification ‘bell’, but if I try to read The Daily Pot notification, I get a small animation and a message that states “Error Loading Post”. Comment posts do not seem to be affected. I need help please as I may be using the iPad on a lot more occasions.

    Hi Lizkarkoski. Fraid I can’t get a screenshot, but there is a small animation that looks like a file box, and then you get the “Error Loading Post” message. It’s when I use iOS app and it is the Notification Bell that sits at the bottom of the main ‘Stats’ screen. It seems to work okay if I use the Notification Bell in the top right hand corner of the site screen. Thanks

    Have you already tried reinstalling the app and restarting the iPad? Any difference?

    Hi. App version is v9.8 which is the latest available from the app store. I have reinstalled the app, restarted the iPad and have also cleared the iPad cache. Nothing seems to have any effect. I have managed to get a screen shot but do not seem to be able to attach it. Thanks

  • Does this happen only for Daily Post posts, or do you experience it with other sites where you have new post notifications active as well? Can you please, in your browser, disable new post notifications for the Daily Post, and then re-enable it, and see if the next one still does this?

    Hi kokkieh. This only happens with the Daily Post notifications. It seems to have only started since I upgraded to a Personal Plan, but I cannot be sure. I’ve disabled and re-enabled as suggested and wait with bated breath for the next notification. Thanks

    Did not have to wait long. Still having the issue. Reinstalled the app again plus a reboot of the iPad with no effect. Thanks

    Further info: I don’t know if this is significant. ‘The Daily Prompt’ post would not open, as reported but the ‘Community Pool’ post by Ben Huberman opened without an issue. So I’m wondering if it may just be ‘The Daily Prompt’ that is the real issue opening on an iOS system.

  • Just to clarify, which iPad Mini version is it, do you happen to know?

    Beginning to think it is just the Daily Prompt that could be the issue. Maybe there is something within that post format that is causing the problem.

    But thanks for all regular updates and info requests. Good to know that you all are so passionate to get it resolved.

  • Yeah, it’s certainly interesting. I’m curious to find out what the cause is as well.

  • I wanted to send along a bit of an update. Right now our developers are looking in to the notification issue you have reported. They are working together with the Reader developer team to see what’s going on. I’ll keep coming back with updates as I have them.
