  Hi,

  I’m getting an ‘There has been a critical error on this website.’ error.
  I restored the database from an earlier backup but the site is still not working.
  What can I do to fix this?

  I can see your site is not hosted on WordPress.com and uses open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) and this forum is focused on sites hosted on WordPress.com. 

  The WordPress.com and WordPress.org sites are completely different: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org
