error message

my wordpress account has been connected to a webaddress from day 1 [www.Hollycoomber.net] suddenly, the day before your stafff disappeared, everyone trying to access the page started getting an error message that the the domain could not be mapped. Perhaps someone could explain what is happening. Because if this is what it appears: that wordpress is extorting money from me (pay to map) without any warning or explanation that brought my social justice website down at a CRITICAL MOMENT without any means of immediately resolving the issue, I can assure them I will find a new host for my site. Why would anyone pay for such inaccountability and bad customer management?!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Have you tried following the instructions on the error page regarding the domain issue? I’ve flagged the issue for a member of staff to take a look.

Hello @freehcoomber – This is a known problem, Please see the sticky note at the top of the forums: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/are-you-having-domain-issues-domain-mapping-error?replies=1

As @hallluke has tagged this for Staff assistance, thanks for your patience while they get back to you.

  • Hi there,

That domain, hollycoomber.net, was connected here via a domain mapping upgrade that was removed after it expired.

According to your account’s billing history the last payment you made to renew that mapping upgrade was on 2 August 2012. You can view your billing history here:

    https://wordpress.com/me/billing

So it would appear that you have been using that domain mapping upgrade for free for the past three years after it expired in August 2013 and wasn’t removed due to a glitch in our system. This error was recently corrected and the expired upgrade was removed.

Your account does not currently own any paid upgrades, which is why you’re only able to post in the forums.

Your site can still be accessed at the free address, http://hollycoomber.wordpress.com/

If you have proof (PayPal transaction IDs and/or a WordPress.com receipt) that you have paid for that domain mapping upgrade since 2012, please let me know and I’d be happy to follow up an straighten this out. Otherwise, you’re welcome to add the mapping upgrade again at My Site ->Domains ->Add.
