Error Message After Commenting

  • Unknown's avatar

Whenever someone posts a comment on my website, they receive an error message. The comment is going through, however, even though they don’t know it. And when they type an identical comment a second time to see if it will ‘work’, they get another error message saying they’ve already commented. What do I do? Why are they getting an error message when nothing is wrong on my end?
I disabled the comments, then re-enabled them, thinking that might refresh the comments, but when I tested it, I, too got the error message. It makes no sense. It never used to do that, until the last WordPress update. Do I un-do the update or something?

    Hi, @draijin,

    That sounds frustrating.

I see that your site is hosted by BlueHost:

    Name Servers
    NS1.BLUEHOST.COM
    NS2.BLUEHOST.COM

At Bluehost you are running your own copy of WordPress that you are responsible for maintaining. If you need support you can head to the awesome https://wordpress.org/support community for assistance.

This guide outlines the differences between what WordPress.com here does and the installation that you have with WordPress.org:
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

I hope this helps, and that you find a solution. Also, kindly let me know if I have any of this information incorrect.
