Error message: Error establishing a database connection

  When I attempt to open certain sites I am getting this error message; Error establishing a database connection. When I right click it takes me to this page; How to Fix the Error Establishing a Database Connection in WordPress. What is going on? I haven’t used wordpress for some years now.
